Bathhouse Features & Protocols for Guest Health & Safety
24/7 Operations – Facility Management & Cleaning Protocols
Bathhouse locations are open daily from 9am to midnight, serving guests with diverse schedules. Since opening our first location in 2019, our facilities team works meticulously behind the scenes to maintain round-the-clock professional cleaning protocols.
As the last guest leaves at midnight, the overnight facility team is just getting started:
Unseen heroes working diligently behind the scenes, our professional overnight deep cleaning staff prepares and cleans the entire facility from front door to back door, upstairs and downstairs, from the pool deck area to inside saunas and pools, shower stalls, restrooms, and every inch of floor and counter space.
Every Night we drain, deep clean, and refill Pools:
In addition to the 24/7 automated pool monitoring and treatment systems detailed below, at night our staff completes thorough pool cleaning protocols for the freshest possible experience.
The entire pool deck floor surface and pool interiors are power washed with professional grade equipment. After pools are drained and filters are checked and replaced, pools are refilled with freshly treated and balanced water heated or chilled to precise temperature ready for a new day of guest service.
Bathhouse leverages the latest cutting-edge aquatic engineering systems and pool management technology to maintain 100% safe conditions at all times. In addition to the automated systems, our team of Certified Pool Operators monitor flow and chemistry by hand several times a day and log the results manually as a verification step of which the records are kept on a six month rolling basis.
State-of-the-Art Pool Technology
Continuous Water Flow:
Water in each pool is circulating continuously and the entire volume of each pool is run through filtration every 30 minutes.
Over 1,000 gallons of water per minute are circulated and filtered at each Bathhouse location, totaling more than 3 million gallons of clean water processed every day across our 14 pools.
Advanced Chemical Controllers:
Each pool has a chemical control system with probes in the water that continuously measure both the Ph and chlorine levels in real time, 24/7.
The system automates the control of acid feeders, CO2 injectors, and erosion-fed chlorinators to keep the pool balanced instantly so that the levels never fall out of range.
Dual Filtration and UV Treatment:
First the water flows through a sand filter, which looks like a large tank the size of a minivan with many layers of fine sand and gravel inside which filter out all particles from the water.
In the second filtration sequence, water flows through an Ultra Violet light filter which uses high-intensity UV light to kill any microbes and eradicate dead chloramines.
Locker Rooms & Accessories
Bathhouse provides clean, spacious, fully-amenitized locker rooms. Complimentary sanitized slippers and towels are provided for a safe and comfortable experience.

We design, furnish, and care for our locker rooms as guest-beloved bookends that complete the Bathhouse hospitality experience.
Locker rooms are continuously stocked with premium personal care products, and all locations feature full bathroom vanities complete with hairdryers for styling. All of this is complimentary for our guests so you can walk out of our doors refreshed and ready for your next destination.
Every night we deep clean and turn over the entire facility with clockwork precision:
Our professional overnight deep cleaning staff prepares and cleans the entire facility from front door to back door, upstairs and downstairs, all amenity areas and treatment rooms, locker room shower stalls, restrooms, and every inch of floor and counter space.
Slippers and towels are Always complimentary and Professionally Sanitized:
Bathhouse partnered with Ecolab to develop a state-of-the-art on-premise commercial laundry sanitation program that runs continuously with computer-controlled washing machines customized for deep cleaning of both slippers and towels.

In New York City we work closely with multiple municipal agencies from project start to doors open: the Department of Buildings, the FDNY, and the Department of Health. At all Bathhouse locations we participate in continuous, regular health inspections both scheduled and unannounced.
Our team of professionals takes great pride in our long-standing record of excellent inspection results – and we continue to collaborate with local health and safety authorities and vendors to advance the industry’s standards of service through incorporating the latest technology and resources available.

Our on-site staff at all Bathhouse locations are comprehensively trained in the latest technology and industry best practices. Team members hold the necessary certifications and licenses, ensuring our facilities not only meet but surpass all relevant guidelines and regulations for full compliance in every department.
Lifeguards and Pool Technicians are trained to safely and carefully look after guest wellbeing:
From pool deck to pump room, Lifeguards and Certified Pool Operators are always on duty monitoring for safe use of the pools.
Our Licensed Massage Therapists and Estheticians are expertly trained to treat each guest effectively with highly-attuned care:
We hire selectively from the best training institutes to cultivate a high-performing culture of efficacy and care.
Focused on real-deal bodywork, Bathhouse operates the largest licensed body treatment program in New York City. Many of our treatment professionals have over a decade of experience performing the services they specialize in. (Fun fact: We delivered over 100,000 Massages and Scrubs in 2024.)
Restaurant staff maintain all Department of Health professional Food & Beverage standards:
Bathhouse locations feature restaurants that are unique hospitality experiences unto themselves. We operate our restaurants with full attention to detail deserving of an independent business.
Our fully staffed and professionally trained restaurant teams hold Food Handlers and Food Protection Certificates from the Department of Health.
Bathhouse Etiquette: Safe, Hygienic, Respectful & Fun
Bathhouses are shared, public spaces where likeminded people meet to sweat and reset. To maintain a safe and harmonious environment for all guests and staff we ask all guests to read and abide by the Code of Conduct to foster a common standard of safety, hygiene, and respect for each other and the space.
Rinse before you soak:
All guests should rinse before entering any of the pools or saunas.
After completing an Aufguss sauna ceremony or body treatment, rinse before entering any other amenities. Please be courteous of those around you by rinsing to remove sweat and body oils.
Converse and engage in a vibrant and respectful social atmosphere:
Bathhouse is a fun and engaging social oasis where conversation is part of the experience.
We encourage guests to have fun and engage in conversation with friends or fellow bathhousers, but to also be mindful of other guests by keeping volume in check and behavior appropriate for the public. When it comes to PDA, if you wouldn’t do it in front of grandma, don’t do it here.
For the privacy of all Bathhouse guests, we enforce a strict no-phone zone in all indoor amenity areas. Phone use is permitted in the lobby, restaurant/lounge, and outdoor spaces.
